A friend invited me for his waleema.

A waleema is a man's public announcement of his marraige, so it's like, a wedding, sort of.

A waleema also means "feast", which is fortunate for us invitees :)

There are many different ways of having a waleema depending on each country's culture and relegious opionion, but in thse case, it was a wedding :)
